I think the big contribution of LGBT people is modeling courage to be true. This doesn’t apply only to us. anyone with a dangerously unpopular personal truth can learn the importance of being out, of admitting who we really are and living our truth. Even being willing to own an unpopular opinion is dangerous territory for many. Our message isn’t so much “pride” as it is “courage” and the vital importance of solidarity.
